The Calgary Korean Health Advocacy Society, which offers the Korean Health Fair every year is hosting the Health Career Fair to introduce health and wellness-related careers to the Korean community on Saturday, May 6th, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
This Career Fair will be offering not only health and wellness-related career information for students but also information for newcomers to get credits for their professional experiences from Korea and continue on with their careers here in Canada. It will include the question and answer opportunities with Korean-speaking professionals regarding their job satisfaction and day-to-day tasks, besides the school/re-training information. Korean-speaking professionals with many health careers and counselors from various educational institutions in Calgary will be available at this event.
The Calgary Korean Health Advocacy Society explained the goals of this event. “Due to the recent economic downturn, there are many Koreans losing their jobs and seeking new experiences and opportunities. Also, many are considering continuing with their professional careers from back home but are not sure where to begin. It will also be an excellent opportunity for those parents who want to pursue a career after raising their children.”
You will be able to obtain the following information and opportunities from the Career Fair:
- Information about educational institutions regarding health careers programs in Calgary.
- Information about mentoring programs and English-level testing institutions.
- Opportunities to get your resume reviewed by professional resume coaches.
- Opportunities to have a one-on-one consultation with a Korean professional who is currently working in a health field.
The event is free and welcomes everyone, including students, parents, and anyone who is considering health careers or get re-certified. Interpreters will be available if needed. The Calgary Korean Health Advocacy Society is also seeking Korean professionals who are willing to volunteer on the day of the event.
